What a relief. April has brought some rain to us at last, we were beginning to think it would never come. The first 14 weeks of 2012 gave us just 24mm, but a couple of weeks ago we had 16mm and then yesterday we had 26mm. Our rain water tank has 8,000L in it right now and it's raining steadily outside, so hopefully we'll be on rain water for the next five to six months.
The garden's looking good, with garlic popping up and silverbeet, beetroot, lettuce, peas, carrots, parsnips, cauliflower, broccoli and cabbages planted. We still have big crops of pumpkins and luffas to pick, so hopefully they will mature before it gets too wet. Hmmm, 'tis such a balancing act this gardening business...
